Domain

Domain is broad subject that child learns. Few common examples of domain are subjects like Mathematics, English Language and Science.

Domain is part of a curriculum, it has many categories, goals and subgoals. When a student's iep contains any subgoals of a domain, the assessment of those subgoals are based on the assessment criteria attached to domain. It also has a performance indicator to evaluate progress and provide indications related to needing help or excelling.

Entity Attributes

Following attributes define a domain.

name

name of the domain.

color_code

A representative color code for this domain. It's value is css color hexcode.

position

Position of the domain within the curriculum. It's an integer value. Usually this field is used for ordering the domains when displayed in the ui.

Entity Relationships

curriculum

Curriculum to which this domain belongs to. A domain can only belong to one and only one curriculum. Its not shared with any other curriculum.

categories

A domain has multiple categories. These categories are exclusive to this domain. This is a one-to-many relationship.

assessment_criterion

Asessment criterion using which the subgoals/goals of this domain get evaluated. This is a one-to-one relationship

performance_indicator

Performance indicator using which the students learning in this particular domain gets evaluated. This is a one-to-one relationship
